The Key

Brick by brick

Block by block

Wall goes up

Around the herat

Brick by brick

Block by block

Wall goes up

How much time

Is left on clock

Brick by brick

Block by block

Wall goes up

Soon to lock

Brick by brick

Block by block

Wall goes up

Who holds the key

Brick by brick

Block by block

Wall goes up

Please to stop

Leave some time

Upon the clock

Brick by brick

Who holds the key

Block by block

To set heart free

Brick by brick

Block by block

The wall goes up

Soon to lock

Liked this…and I know who holds the key! 🙂

p.s. the finger nail polish didn’t cut it…:-(

  2. Leslie Kavourakis says:

A sparse verse that bemoans the “Chilling of the Heart” and contemplates the ineviditability of doors closing….Of sands running out on the “Dream”. The writer outlines an “Eclipse of the soul” while the reader vainly searches the spare lines for hope of rescue…Sadness at the impenetrable wall….

I just love the repetition in this poem. It makes me think of the layers you are expressing. Keep the poems coming!
